With the release of After Hours for Grand Theft Auto Online we were treated to the biggest content drop of to date. The new nightclubs combine existing businesses, while being a new business unto themselves, and alter the mechanics of money making in the game drastically, leaving us with a lot to untangle. After Hours brings so much to the table that diving into it might be a tad intimidating at first - we're here to make it more welcoming. Turning your nightclub into a source of passive income while supporting your other businesses is one of the more complex challenges GTA Online has thrown at its players and it can take a while to get set up.
This guide will be looking at both the nightclub business itself as well as the business consolidation angle with the combined warehouse. Nightclubs can be purchased in the foreclosures section of the Maze-Bank website. Access it via the "Internet" icon on your in-game cellphone.
GTA Online After Hours Guide
We suggest you choose the location most handy and convenient for you. There will also be several different styles and other cosmetic features of your nightclub that you may wish to splurge on - all completely optional. Once you've bought your nightclub and watched the opening cut-scene you'll need to open the computer in your main office on the top floor behind the "VIP" door and then complete 3 objective missions to actually open your nightclub: 1 pick up three staff members who will be located around Los Santos and indicated on your map; 2 steal a Festival bus from the desert and bring it back to your nightclub; and 3 pick up your DJ from Los Santos International Airport.
The first DJ available at launch is Solomun. Once all that is done you just need to make a few final decisions such as entrance fees and restricted access areas and your club will be open for business.
Your nightclub, as an independent business, has no effect on how the joined warehouse functions. The two are entirely separate, so if you don't particularly care about the nightclub, you can just not interact with it while still reaping the benefits of the consolidated warehouse.
Both provide passive income, however. Your nightclub doesn't just contain your warehouse and three levels of garage space, but is an independent business on its own. While you'll see through this guide that it is far from the most profitable one, it does come with several fun gameplay perks to keeping your nightclub running.GTA Proof I am not a modder
You might best be served to think of them as less of a method to make money, instead viewing them as a way to entertain yourself. While not high, this can add up and the best way to compensate is via keeping nightclub income high. When you have well running businesses this isn't an issue in any regard, so it only really matters early on.
Your nightclub has a popularity meter. This more than covers utilities, and again, even though it doesn't seem much, does add up over time. Keeping popularity high by doing the side missions doesn't take too much effort and gives you a solid income base. The table below illustrates how much your popularity affects your passive icome:.

An alternate way of boosting your popularity is by destroying the advertising vans of other players who are doing nightclub missions to increase their own popularity. We wouldn't recommend this however as it yields much less popularity than actually doing the missions yourself.
Staff upgrades reduce the rate of popularity decay while security functions much like in any other business - it decreases the probability of your business getting raided. For nightclubs, a raid will result in popularity loss. Finally, equipment upgrades will allow your technicians to produce supplies more quickly more on that below. In a more minor feature, popularity loss will also disable the more expensive items on the drink menu.
While you can customize the interior of your club, this doesn't affect stats or popularity. As you earn more money through it and complete Business Battles activities, Tony's desk will be updated with little trophies commemorating your progress. These too are purely cosmetic.
Business Battles are a new freemode activity that will occur periodically in your game lobby. You need to beat the other players and secure a shipment that will be dropped to a random location on the map.
An additional way to gain income from the nightclub is by setting an entrance fee. Each week Rockstar releases new carsmodes, missionsracesand deals Free money! Check out the page below for images, video, and a full list of GTA Online updates as soon as we hear about them each week. This option gives you much more choice over the specific job you want to play. Do the following:. Tap the Quick Job icon on the phone. Choose to be On Call or Alone.
Play the job.
Start a Job from the pause menu in GTA Online This option gives you much more choice over the specific job you want to play. From the pause menu go to Online and then choose between Jobs or Playlists. Playlists are groups of jobs put together that you play in a specific order. There are Rockstar Playlists and Verified Playlists that have been put together by other players and approved by the developers.
In the Jobs menu you can also bookmark favourite Jobs and Playlists. This is great for stacking a bunch of fun Jobs to play with friends and those that you know to hand out decent amounts of cash and RP. You can either Join a Job or Host. As Host you can chose from Rockstar Created, Verified, recently played or any you may have bookmarked. With Missions in particular you can tweak the difficulty which makes it harder duh!
However maximizing profit from the businesses is key to making them a worthwhile pursuit, and there's a lot of data the game doesn't tell you upfront. It's possible that your way of managing your businesses needs a whole lot of streamlining and optimization but you don't even know it and profits might improve significantly as a result.
A useful chart put together by Reddit user Echobox reproduced below has reiterated that the Cocaine Lockup is the most profitable businesshowever some further intricacies of the business mechanic has been revealed as well. Much like in the case of our Vehicle Durability Guidesome of the underlying systems here aren't apparent to the player.
Before we jump into the hard data, an interesting observation to remember is that the three businesses centered around drugs produce at a misaligned ratio, meaning that a full bar of production doesn't equal a round number of sellable units. This is why having one completed bar won't allow you to sell any product with the Cocaine Lockup, for example. The fractions add up to a whole number at 5 bars in each case, however in between there is always some excess product created, and that excess is wasted whenever you shut down a business.
Keep in mind that these numbers come from businesses with fully upgraded Equipment and Staff attributes, so un-upgraded businesses may yield varied results. Another thing to consider before immediately picking the Cocaine Lockup is your playstyle. Unlike in the case of CEO work, delivering more crates - or product, in this case - won't give you a bonus on profit. You'll get the same percentage payout regardless of how many units of product you deliver. If you're playing solo, dealing with more delivery vehicles can be a pain and you might end up losing a whole lot more than you gain.
Since Cocaine doesn't produce any sellable units with the first bar, and the second bar sells for less than Meth, Weed and Counterfeit Cash while selling for the equivalent of Documents, it might not be the best choice.
It becomes the best paying business from three bars and up, which is also when delivering solo becomes tricky. A different spreadsheet also exists which has somewhat different numbers, but reaches the same conclusions in terms of which business is the most profitable, leaving Cocaine at the top of the food chain.
This other chart comes from Reddit user jc and can be found by clicking here. The main advantage jc's chart has over the one above is that it includes the exact time required to break even with your businesses, and the statistics can be important for solo players. After Cocaine, Counterfeit Cash is the second most lucrative business, selling at pretty decent rates even with few bars. As a solo player, a good technique is to deliver fewer units more frequently to keep a high success rate.
Delivering a larger haul alone is possible, but it requires skill and above all else, time. In the long run, multiple short deliveries will be quicker than fewer big hauls. You should also balance how you'll supply your businesses.
The key here is that export missions yield greater profits than a business powered by stolen supplies. This means if you save time by buying supplies, and spend the extra time on export missions, you'll end up with more profit than if you spend extra time on stealing supplies for your business.
Of course, this mainly applies to solo players. Things change significantly when playing with friends. Since buying supplies will only allow you to partially fill your bars, a good technique here is to buy as much as you can and then steal the rest for maximum yield. The chart created by Echobox does all the math for us, and shows that a full set of Cocaine product sells for the best amount both in the case of stolen and bought supplies, though Counterfeit Cash with stolen supplies beats Cocaine with bought supplies.Have you ever dreamed of something like a life simulator?
Not like easygoing Sims, something more realistic with plenty of capabilities and freedoms? Just think for a minute how you slowly wake up, get breakfast into the bed, turn on a TV, put your suit on, go to work on your luxury car and finish your weekday in a bar with a couple of charming beauties. Not bad, right? However, Rockstar has been working on their concept of the series for years and not in vain.
Of course, we all remember how we used to play a top-down shooter with some truly violent scenes of crimes that we rather observed as witnesses than felt ourselves participating there. So the first-person mode significantly changes how you view and perceive the GTA V's world. Playing the game this way you will spend more time on thinking whether you should commit crimes or simply stop doing them. You can see in details whatever you want from signs on the shop windows to tiny raindrops on the ground.
And viewing all of this in first-person is more than just delight. You can easily tilt the camera up, above and around the city anytime, so you will likely just walking around the streets in the beginning and watching for hours everything that will come across your eyes.
Everyone has own idea of how to play Grand Theft Auto, but most people still believe that all you do in this game is just chasing prostitutes and killing bad guys to get easy money.
Well, if everything was that simple, Rockstar North would stop their work a while ago. Ready to get surprised? Right, I was shocked the same as you. Personally, my doubts have disappeared from the first minutes of playing the game. So your protagonists are Franklin, Michael and Trevor. He steals cars from time to time and dreams of getting on a serious deal one day. Michael, unlike other heroes, has a beautiful life of a former criminal: respect and recognition, a mansion in Vinewood, a full garage of super cars as well as a broken marriage with his dissatisfied wife, tough relations with a daughter who spends all the time with porn moguls and a post puberty boy who only does that smokes weed all days and nights and plays something similar to Call of Duty.
So no wonder why Michael spends more time with Franklin than his children and gives Franklin a chance to check out the life of big-time crime by himself. Trevor is a character that you will never forget, even if you try hard. He is truly horrible and terrifying person.
Lives in a dirty trailer, makes methamphetamine, screams swear words, spontaneously beats people and kills bikers. Trevor is absolutely uncontrollable, impudent, arrogant and socially dangerous.
So other two protagonists seem to be nice enough people by comparing them to Trevor. Therefore, to complete some missions in GTA V, you will have to hire additional members to your crew. There will be a need sometimes for jobs like hacker, driver, gunman and others.Crime in GTA Online just went big time. The new CEO privileges introduced with the Further Adventures in Finance and Felony update have taken the concepts first introduced for VIPs and expanded them so that players can build a city-wide contraband distribution service.
With the Finance and Felony update you have the opportunity to become the CEO of your own business, employ staff, and crush your rivals across Los Santos and Blaine County. The risks are too high and you need to rely on a coordinated team to secure the loot, store it, and drop it off for delivery and payment. A lot can go wrong with attacks from other players, the homicidal Los Santos police, and local gangs. You need to reduce those threats as much as possible with teamwork and firepower.
Here are the prices:. At this stage you can also customise the office with a gun locker, safe, living quarters and decor. You can name your Organisation and hire an Executive Assistant to take care of pesky chores like calling Pegasus vehicles, getting you a lift back to the office for free, ordering free snacks etc.
As a CEO you also now have the ability to recruit Associates. This works in much the same was as a VIP hires bodyguards. Money, obviously. The office also comes with a SecuroServ computer. They come in three sizes — small, medium and large. Make sure you have Associates with you, as they are multi-part missions. Each buy mission scales in difficulty depending on how many Special Cargo crates you want to buy; one easiesttwo or three hardest. Fortunately your warehouse cannot be attacked by other players.
Maybe you want to jump in for the first time, or are coming back from a break. Whatever the reason, here are some pointers for getting up and running in GTA Online. Long, dumb name aside, this is a great package for new players. You get a bunch of cars, weapons, clothes, and properties right out of the gate. If this version of the game goes away or is too expensive for you, GTA V also goes on sale fairly often.
The story portion of GTA V will teach you some of the basics you need to survive in GTA Onlinewithout any assholes, trolls, or fear of constant death. Personalizing your character will help you feel connected to their journey from random thug to criminal mastermind. It helps that GTA Online has some incredible threads for you to try on. Be careful though! Currently, new clothes are far more expensive than the older stuff sitting on coathangers. GTA Online has a bit of an inflation problem these days.
I have fond memories of pals getting run over by a car, accidentally pissing off a cop and other shenanigans that made GTA Online more fun and entertaining. Highly recommended.
Friends are also useful for completing some of the more complex missions and activities, which have higher payouts than simply robbing a convenience store. Contact missions are like standard GTA missions, but they separate you from the other players in a free roam session. This means you can focus on the objective without worrying about some random asshole killing you with a jet.
Contact missions can be a fun way to make money, as they pay out extra cash for new players. Contact missions are offered to you randomly via the in-game phone, but you can find them in the pause menu under Jobs as well.
If you can invite a higher level friend, set these missions to hard. You get more cash and reputation points RP. Rockstar is always doing weekly events for GTA Online. These events can vary in quality, but many of them give players ways to make extra cash and experience. Events also bring weekly discounts to GTA Onlineso if you want a new supercar or house, it pays to wait. Speaking of stunt races Stunt races are a great way to make some cash and level up, even if you are playing alone.
Not only do these pay well, but they are also a great way to earn more racing wins. This is important if you care about unlocking all the car upgrades and mods.
